Alleppo

Sharing it’s name with Aleppo, Syria, this modestly hot pepper (10K Scoville) has a complex smoky, salty, sweet flavor.   Dried and crushed or ground in Northern Syria and Southern Turkey from antiquity, these 4 – 6 inch red to burgundy colored peppers are thin skinned and can be also be enjoyed fresh.  80 days to maturity.
